Jayam Ravi #Miruthan movie Review @jayam_mohanraja @actor_jayamravi

While Miruthan starring Jayam Ravi and Lakshmi Menon in the lead cast is not without its own share of pros and cons, it is definitely an attempt to enjoy because we have never seen the zombie genre in Tamil cinema.

Directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan, the film explores the adventures of a traffic police who tries to save a town from a zombie infestation and explain people why these walking dead people should be killed again.

Jayam Ravi is caught in the middle of a man versus nature situation. His brave attempts to save people from nearly a million zombies is what forms the crux of the story with plenty of sister sentiment, romance and action thrown in.

The Cast
Jayam Ravi is going on an amazing pace with some of the best movies and this is another milestone in his career. He acts with ease and keeps the film rested on his shoulders. Lakshmi Menon does her part in the romance portion while Kaali Venkat brings the much needed comical relief in a typical horror genre.

The Team
Director Shakti Soundar Rajan is a versatile and trustworthy director which he proved with films like Nanayam and Naigal Jakirathai. With a hero like Jayam Ravi, he managed to bring a new action styled film to Tamil cinema. The VFX even though decent is not on par with Hollywood movies and the crisp screenplay with little dragging saves the day. Music by Imman is a decent add-on to the movie.

Bottom line – A mix of action, love and comedy sprinkled with Zombies make Miruthan a decent watch!

Certified Fresh – YES!

Stars – 3.7/5
